Allen H. Hauth, age 87, of Reno, NV, passed away on February 16, 2025. Born on June 26, 1937, in Chicago, IL, he was the beloved son of the late Margaret and Robert Hauth.

Allen attended Lane Tech High School in Chicago and completed one semester of college before proudly enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1955. His service took him on remarkable journeys through the Mediterranean, including Gibraltar Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, Libya, and Spain. Notably, in 1958, as tank commander and Sergeant, Allen's 3rd Marine division intervened in a rebellion in Beirut, Lebanon, quelling the conflict between the Muslims and Christians. The operation was considered swift and successful.

Allen's time in Okinawa and Japan ignited his passion for Judo. After completing his four-year service in the Marines, he devoted himself to the art, earning his first black belt and eventually creating the Samurai Judo Club in Crystal Lake IL. While teaching Judo and balancing his career as a long-haul driver for Cotter and Company for 12 years, his first wife, Elaine, sadly passed away, leaving him to care for their three young children.

To be closer to his family, Allen transitioned to a career in real estate and became a broker, all while continuing to teach Judo and achieving his 4th degree black belt. It was through Judo that he met his future wife, Susan ("Sue"). As his student and assistant instructor, Sue earned her 3rd brown belt. The couple married two years later and built a life together filled with love and shared interests.

Allen's assistance in aerial photography work in real estate fueled his desire to learn to fly. He achieved his commercial pilot ratings and became an instructor at DuPage Airport in IL, which eventually led to a role as Director of Operations for American Flyers at Santa Monica Airport in CA. He then served as Flight School Director at Camarillo Airport in Camarillo CA.

In 1990, Allen and Sue combined their artistic talents to start their own business, Custom Time Frames LTD gallery and custom frame shop in Port Hueneme, CA. They supported not only local beach communities but military businesses and personnel from Pt. Mugu Naval Air Base. They created a successful award-winning business that thrived for 24 years before they retired to Reno, NV.

Even in retirement, Allen's passion for flying never waned. To celebrate his 80th birthday, he made a tandem sky dive. He also cherished driving his classic 1996 Limited Edition Corvette convertible.

He loved fishing and boating, and in his younger years was an avid water skier and downhill snow skier.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan Hauth, his children Jeffrey (Nancy) Hauth, Sheri (Gary) Sutton, and Sandi (Chuck) Hechler, seven grandchildren: Matthew Hauth, Lindsay Wolfe, Collan Jonas, Connar Jonas, Amanda Honycutt, Courtney Hechler, Kiley Hechler, and five great-grandchildren.

Allen's adventurous spirit, love of family, and his amazing accomplished life leave a lasting legacy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will be two Celebrations of Life. The first on May 4th 2025 in Normandy TN with Sue’s family. The second one will be with Military Honors at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley NV later this summer. Date to be determined.
