Charles “Butch” Wellman Jr.

Charles “Butch” Wellman Jr. passed away on September 8, 2021 at the age of 51.

Butch Wellman Jr. was born on July 25, 1970 in Reno, Nevada to Charles “Butch” Wellman Sr. and Evelyn King.  Butch attended Washoe County schools and has lived in Reno/Sparks, Nevada all his life.  Butch worked at Ferguson Enterprises for the last few years.

Butch was a caring man with a heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved his Pitbull pup, Duke more than anything. He also loved Harleys and anything fast and loud. He had a passion for buying and flipping cars/trucks.  He loved to cook and enjoyed the company of family and friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his father Butch Sr.  He is survived by his daughter, Keirsten Schultz (husband Johnny), his sons Dustin and Austyn Ashford-Wellman, his two grandsons Blake and Beckett Schultz, his mother Evelyn, his brother Randy Colunga and sisters Rhonda Knagenhelm and Gina Wellman, his girlfriend Tancy Price (daughter Isabel and son JJ) as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life in his honor will be held on October 10, 2021 from 11:00 – 2:00pm at the Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley Ranch Park. The address is 6000 Bartley Ranch Road, Reno, Nevada 89511.
