Elica (Lisa) Whitfield, 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 12, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was a loving wife of 30 years to Van Whitfield and a cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Lisa was born in Twin Falls, ID and moved to Reno in 1964. She started working in Table Games at Grand Sierra Resort (formerly MGM Grand Reno, Bally’s Reno and Reno Hilton) and after 30 years she retired as a Table Games Supervisor in 2006. Lisa enjoyed retirement spending her time at Lake Havasu, AZ, golfing, and making unique crafts. Lisa was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.Lisa was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica Ritchey, and her parents, Velda and Hal Dickenson. She is survived by her husband, Van, sons Chris Hamlin and Duane Hamlin, daughter Therese Mott, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Lisa touched the lives of many with her warm and caring nature. Her final gift was a donation of organs to the Donor Network.In lieu of flowers/gifts, donations may be made in Lisa’s name to the Donor Network – donornetworkwest.org.
