Greg Joss, a proud fourth generation buckaroo cowboy, passed away on June 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts those who knew him. Born on June 11, 1954, in Lusk, Wyoming, Greg's life was a testament to hard work, integrity, and passion for the cowboy way of living.
From the tender age of 4, Greg was already out on cattle and tending to the family cattle herd. His deep-rooted connection to the land and animals only grew stronger as he managed several successful cattle ranches and traveled all over the western United States buying and selling cattle. Not only was he a skilled rancher, but Greg also made a name for himself in riding "bucking horses," earning numerous accolades and buckles in his youth.
Greg's tough exterior was complemented by his honest and dependable nature. He was always there for his friends in times of need, offering a helping hand without hesitation. His genuine interest in others' lives and his ability to strike meaningful conversations with anyone made him a beloved figure in his community.
Apart from his cowboy pursuits, Greg was a master craftsman in leatherwork and braiding. He took great pride in every piece he crafted, from butchering a cow to tanning the hide and working it into fine tack for his own use.
In Reno, Nevada, where Greg breathed his last breath, he is survived by his loving wife Debbi Joss. Together with Debbi and their shared memories, Greg's spirit will live on as a beacon of strength and resilience.
Greg Joss will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering work ethic, kind heart, and dedication to his cowboy heritage leave an indelible mark on all who crossed paths with him. May he ride on to greener pastures, forever watching over those he held dear.
