Jennifer Lynn Nelson, 60, of Fernley passed away at 12:34 PM on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nevada.

She was born December 11, 1959 in Reno, Nevada and adopted by Raymond and Caryl Cullen.

Preceded in death by her father, Raymond Cullen and stepbrother Benjamin Mudge, Jennifer is survived by her husband George, her children Brian, Andrew, Nicolas, and Lexey, one sister Dorne Cullen, along with two nephews D.J. and Chris Rothgeb, whom she loved like sons. Also, she is survived by her stepmother Dorothy Cullen, and stepbrother Richard Mudge.

She was a long-time resident of Fernley, where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Sparks, Nevada, before starting high school. Jennifer graduated from Fernley High School in 1977.

She married George Nelson on July 16, 1983 and decided to stay in Fernley to raise a family. She loved nothing more than her family and cheering on her kids during sports all while loving the New York Yankees. In some of her free time, Jennifer volunteered as a Little League coach to spread her love of baseball.

Jennifer put everyone before herself and tried her best to make everyone happy. She was selfless and loved with everything she had. Her enjoyment was found watching her four children grow, working alongside Jordan Rhodes for many years whom she loved like her own son, and living a life full of adventure, fun, and love.

There will be an informal memorial service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday June 27, 2020 at her sister’s home. The service will be held at 3009 Beaverhead Lane in Fernley, Nevada.
