Lawrence "Larry" Olson

Lawrence “Larry” Olson died peacefully in St Mary’s Hospital on May 20, 2022 in Reno, NV at the age of 74. Larry is survived by his children, Victor Olson, Christy (Ken) Stark; grandsons Myles & Mason Olson, KJ & Lukas Stark; siblings, Gregory (Linda) Olson, Darrell (Linda) Olson, Bonnie Land Wisdom, Keith Land, LD (Cassie) Land, Steven Land, Leonette Land Conway, Corey (Christine) Olson and many nieces and nephews. Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Delena Hundley Olson, parents Norman (Adeline) Olson, Lois (Leon) Land, sister Thelma Land Elmore. Larry was born on May 10th in Madison, WI to Norman Olson & Lois Gannon Land. Larry married Delena “Kaye” Hundley Olson, in 1967. They were married until Delena passed away January 2017. Larry moved to Texas with his mother & stepfather as a child from Madison, WI. He lived in Texas until joining the Navy in 1966 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1972. Larry served on the USS Princeton and spent time serving in Vietnam.. Larry & Delena would make their home in Amarillo, TX until 1987 when they moved to Lancaster, CA. They eventually made their home in Reno, NV in October 1994. Larry was passionate about spending time with his grandsons, woodworking, leather work, fishing, golfing and camping. He enjoyed making woodworking projects for his grandsons. A memorial service is scheduled for 10am on July 8th at Veteran’s Cemetery which is located at 14 Veterans Way, Fernley, NV 89408. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Larry’s life.
