Shirley Jo Ann Allison (Ybarra / Ashford) passed away on 12.19.2023 at the age of 85 in Sparks NV. She was truly “ an Angel among us” She is survived by husband Pastor David J. Allison, her sons Steven Keith Sample, David Wayne Sample, Pastor Kevin Timm Sample and Greg Frank Allen Sample and daughter Cher Allison. Also survived by her siblings Rick Ashford, Sarah Dean-Clinton. Michael, Timothy, Gene, and Sherry Clinton. Shirley also has lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, 6 grandchildren & 2 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons plus 4 indoor furry felines and 2 outside fury friends as well as some awesome human friends! Shirley was born 11/3/1938  in Broken Bow Ok and soon after raised in Klamath Falls  Oregon where she attends school and graduated high school. She later moved to Reno and was employed as a Black-Jack Dealer for Harrah’s Casino during this time she put herself through school and earned her   BA at Almeda College in Public Administration and an AA in Liberal Arts at University of Nevada, Reno TMCC CampusSoon afterwards she began Employment with the State of Nevada Welfare Division as a Food Stamp Program Specialist at Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. Shirley became a born-again Christian @ a Billy Graham crusade in Reno in the fall of  1980. She served Jesus through various ministries While attending Reno Christian Fellowship (RCF) she was blessed to be involved with the choir, musicals, and drama presentations & the RCF Worship & Praise team. From 2006-2016 she led worship and praise for the House of Prayer   home church and blessed multiple lives with her call-in ministry with Pastor David at elderly care homes to those transferring from this life into the kingdom of Christ. Upon retirement she was a Teacher at Reno Christian Fellowship Preschool. She was involved with the Reno Philharmonic Choir, For many years She was part of a Messianic-Hebrew dance team. So much fun! In years past She had the opportunity to be part of the Hot August Nights team and to serve as president of "Horsepower" a non-profit organization in Nevada. Keep the "Mustangs" free! In her own words she has had an incredibly good, blessed, happy and adventurous life PTL! She is a true American patriot and loves this country and proudly fly & stand for the US Flag. Shirley’s life and ministry continue to minister to those she knew and encountered.

Memorial services will be held at Paddy and Irenes @ 906 Victorian Ave, Sparks, NV 89431 on February 4th, 2024, at 1pm.
