Todd West Haefeli

My husband, Todd West Haefeli, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2024. Todd was born to Robert and Audrey Haefeli on December 3, 1969, in San Jose, CA. He is survived by his brothers Dale, Paul, Cory and his wife Lisa, his sister Lisa Haefeli-Judd, our sons Nicholas and Ross and wifey Sam. He is also survived by his nephew's and niece's Karen, Christopher, Greg, Rebecca, and Josh. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Audrey Haefeli. Todd was the youngest in the Haefeli family. He and I were together 37 years. Todd was a carpenter through and through. He made his mother a buffet cabinet and a bar out of not many tools or supplies, but he always found a way to make it work. As soon as Nicholas was walking, Todd made taking the first week in August off a priority so he could take Nick to Hot August Nights every year. 

Todd had a second family at Blackhawk Molding that will miss him almost as much as I do. Blackhawk was the turning point for Todd in his professional life and together with so many friends and his "work wife" Monica he found his way through the opportunities this gave him. It's interesting to look back on the people he worked with and the people I worked with. The two never crossed until one day, my teammate had asked how Todd was doing at his job and at the time he had been there for I think around two years. I told her, (Cori Steele), that he really liked Blackhawk. She turned to me and said my dad is his boss (Bruce Wayne/Batman). We both laughed. All that time and we never put it together. Reno is truly a small town. Bruce should be commended for the support they gave us when Todd had his first heart attack. Bruce made it a point to be there when he was extubated. I don't know of any jobs Todd had where they would have done anything like this for an employee. This behind-the-scenes support continued with this current awful event. I sound like a broken record, but these teammates he worked with all stepped up and are the definition of follow up follow down follow through. 

My family and friends have become the best support system, through phone calls and text with me saying, 'he is really gone' to 'how do I turn the sprinklers off?' oh were they off?'. I used to say to him, you know what? He'd say, what? I love you and love you more and more every day, to which he would say, 'you are such a goof' and that he loved me too.
